We have a clapper! Jericho has learned how to clap his hands, and it couldn't be any cuter! For a while he was doing it closed-fisted, but Michael and I worked on that over the weekend, clapping like goofballs with big giant happy faces, and it worked. Now we just have to show him when to clap his hands. He's also cruising right along now, and he's moving very well. He doesn't like to "walk" holding our hands, though; when we try to stand him up, holding him by the hands, he just relaxes his body like a little marionette. But he's getting there. He loves to dance and climb on the furniture, so he's going to be an active little boy once he starts walking. I've also decided to change his middle name from James to Fidget. He does not like to be held, especially when there are shelves, DVD players and tv remotes to explore and play with.
Birthday party planning has stalled for the moment, because I've decided I'm not paying $323 for a room at the Arena. So now I'm looking at other (read: cheaper) places to hold a birthday party on Post. I have an appointment made for Saturday, February 7th for his 1st year portraits, so I'm excited about that. I have to pick out a couple of outfits for him, and what toys to take to make him smile. I can't wait to see how they turn out. Rest assured we will order plenty of pictures for everyone!
Oh, and as for Michael's Florence trip, the Segway pictures are hilarious. I'll post them upon proper permission later. And no, sadly there was no new tattoo.
Holy Smokes! Why is it so expensive to have a birthday at the Arena? That is pretty ridiculous!
