Feels Like Years Since It's Been Here

I've had several people ask me how I came up with the title of this blog. It's an easy one to answer: it's my favorite Beatles song, hands down. The original is the best version to me. There's not much to it lyrically, and it's a short song, but that's one of the many reasons I love the Beatles' music so much. They pack so much meaning and feeling into so few words. I like Here Comes the Sun in particular because it's a happy one, comparing the moment to the end of Winter and the first hint of Spring.

The reason I named my blog after it is because I've entered a new chapter of my life where I'm more responsible, contemplative, reflective, defensive, protective and secure. I'm a new mom. I'm an Army wife. I live in a foreign country and don't speak the language as well as I should.

Some days it's a downhill ride, easygoing and comfortable. But on the days I feel like I'm pushing a rock up an endless hill, all it takes is a little music and sunshine to send the blues away. For me, that's what the Beatles are good for.
