Today I realized that sometimes you have to give up something you want to get what you really need.
Ok, so remember the Sony Brava DVD entertainment system we won at Burger King a few months back? We signed all the paperwork and the winning game piece, sent it in and waited. About a month ago, we got a letter stating that we indeed were the winners, and we were told we had a choice: take the prize or opt for the cash equivalent. Well, with our upcoming trip being an expensive one, we decided that the DVD player we have now is just fine (even though it's about to bite the dust any day now), and we could use the money to go toward plane tickets. Although it makes me just a tad sick to wave goodbye to the entertainment center, it's much, much more important that we get some much-needed family time. We both want to go home and be around those we love while we have the chance, and Sony will always be around.
Besides, who wants to pay twice the price of a regular DVD just to be able to see into people's pores?
