I actually remember the day we brought this radio home. It was over 20 years ago. My mom put it on layaway at Roses and I was ecstatic to get to use it. It did have a power cord that I wish I hadn't misplaced, because Heaven knows how much money I've spent on D batteries over the years.
At this very moment it's tuned to AFN, playing "Dance Hall Days" by Wang Chung. It also plays CDs, good for borrowed children's tunes from the library. Michael has tried several times to get me to replace this radio with a newer model, but I don't understand why. It has been with me since childhood, a constant in my ever-changing life. Why get rid of it now? I believe it has at least another 20 years left!
aww, i like the memory of when you got it.
