I'm stealing this idea from Samantha, Michelle and Susan.
I felt outnumbered, ok?
Last Saturday, Michael drove down to El Paso to see a guy about someone's wine shipment from Italy. See, when we were planning/arranging our pack-up in Vicenza, we were unaware of the length of time and amount of hassle necessary to ship wine collections with your Household Goods. By some miracle, we got it done, and a couple weeks ago we got the word that the wine had arrived in Texas and was waiting for us at Ft. Bliss.
Up bright and early Saturday morning, Michael was ready to hit the road and reunite with a few of his Battle Company buddies who were settling into their new duty station at Ft. Bliss. The plan was to get there late in the afternoon, pick up the wine and hang out for a while with his friends, then head back home the next morning.
When he pulled in the driveway Sunday night, I could barely contain myself. I'd been waiting for this stuff since the end of January! I needed my Prosecco! I had missed Italian wine so much since we left.
Now I have about 7 crates of wine sitting in a corner of our bedroom. It's too hot to store them in the garage, and we don't have a wine rack - yet. That may need to wait until Jericho is a bit older.
Hmmm....do they build wine cellars in Oklahoma? I might have to look into that!
Oh, lucky! We didn't do a wine shipment because it was so hot they told us everything would spoil. But I guess that's just one more reason to head back to Italy!
