The State Fair!

My mom, Jericho and I ventured out on Friday to enjoy the sights and sounds (and FOOD!) of the NC State Fair.  I hadn't been in several years, and this was Jericho's first time.  We got to see lots of plant and vegetable exhibits, and Jericho got to hold a just-hatched Monarch butterfly in his hand.  He was pretty amazed by that!  There is a "family ride" section of the Fair where we spent most of our time.  I bought a sheet of ride tickets for Jericho and he had a blast!  He rode the 4-wheeler, monster truck, space bounce, helicopters and lots of other rides for kids.  We enjoyed the most sinful of Fair staple food, the funnel cake, and walked it off for the next hour.

We decided to skip my favorite part of the Fair - The Village of Yesteryear - but it was a good decision, considering my son's short attention span.  I was also disappointed that we didn't get to pet the farm animals on display in the FFA building.  Oh well.  Jericho did get a major kick out of hearing the roosters crowing!

Have a great weekend!
